GUAVATE-CAYEY: CARITE FOREST & ROASTED PIG GASTRONOMIC ROUTE

Join us for a panoramic drive about an hour south of the metropolitan area to the countryside to learn about the native trees and plants as your guide leads you through a easy walk nature trail to a natural swimming spot known as “Charca Azul” (Blue Pond) within the Carite State Forest. You will need to bring a bathing suit, towel, and change of clothes if planning on taking a refreshing dip in the water. After the short hike, you will visit a “Lechonera” in the Guavate Village area, well known for roasted sucking pig on a BBQ rotating spit as featured on the Travel Channel and Food Network.
